Gay gay angry or horny?
I did have some aspect of this campaign: we go out for nearly three years in which the "homosexual question" has been consistently on the altars of political commentary, mainly because of timely, consistent and powerful opposition of the Vatican hierarchy of any measure that would legalize the lives of homosexual persons and couples, in fact, legitimize the homosexual behavior. And I thought that this was the time to listen to new words by the parties, after the first campaign (now "heroic") of the Radical Party.
But beyond the controversy on the nominations, none has developed a clear and direct message to gay people. Yes, of course, there are important commitments in the programs of the Rainbow Left and the Socialists and the Democratic Party has at least made the effort to basically repeat the same words of previous program of the Olive. But only the Socialists have developed a real advertisement directed at gay people.
If you have missed it can see on www.partitosocialista.it : The campaign has a title and that 'all: "We are angry." Read the title of the campaign expects a pissed images, or not? Instead of the five faces chosen to represent the five themes of incazzatura - and then imagine five categories of people expected to vote Socialist - three are decent people and relaxed, which should represent the workers, angry and insecure women, one representing the elderly - objectively the more pissed of the five - while the last is a gay, except that everything looks pissed. Indeed it is a babe with a red beard and sparse, blue eyes and parted lips, which may well appear on one of the many erotic magazines that are published in the world.
What's wrong, you say? We must capture the attention of the target and convince him to vote. Basically there are those who sell shoes for women with ads that show girls to men with shorts bursts and advertisements showing fustaccioni panties swollen.
But, while flying over the fact that at least half of gay people in Italy are women (and probably pissed too, shall we?) Remains the feeling of a certain superficiality drawing up the advertisement and the strategy of political marketing that can be glimpsed behind (if there is a strategy).
I do not believe that selling is like selling policy briefs, and did not intend for ethical reasons, but because it takes a consistent message and image. If the socialists really think that gay people are angry because they aim to convince them to vote sull'ammiccamento erotic? We imagine all so horny and in the grip of our sexual instincts to be unable to resist the pretty face on the board election socialist?
Of course we like sex, but I seem to recall any election campaign eroticism conveyed, for any category of voter. Just with us was supposed to start?
