Of course, seen from a distance, I seems an interesting case study to a local majority that decides to change the process of building their own pride, which in turn generates a response signed by a cartel of organizations, many of which are not Roman, who express themselves against the method chosen. The feeling I had reading the document "No Pride in Rome 2010" is to forget something very simple: the Pride is not the prerogative of any single organization, but an event that primarily addresses the community of lesbian, gay and almost everywhere in the world of transsexuals, to renew, each year, the value of the visibility and demand for equal rights and opportunities. And it is evident that the organization of this event (which in most countries of Western culture is now the exclusive prerogative of trade organizations of the LGBT community must not forget that play a "service" for the community, leaving organizations with the management policy events) must rely on a very broad base of support among the organizations active in the area.
E 'is not superfluous to recall that the Pride is a registered trademark owned exclusively, and that the organizers must do act in the interest of the whole community? Without an ideological sense and interpret the objectives of the Pride, but making sure that the same is the more inclusive and plural possible? The second challenge, even if it appears, has much to do with what happens in Rome, even if the context is completely different. No coincidence that the four words are: self-determination, secularism, anti-racism and anti-fascism.
In itself, this choice is historic, because it is the first time (to my memory) in Italy three different movements such as the LGBT, anti-racist and women are at a common expression. And remember that the coordination has taken this position by discussing, and then dividing by voting, by majority, on the proposal. None of those who voted against or doubted the choice worked against and I hope that in the unfortunate event of a result is not up to expectations, no one throws out the famous "I had said ...."
But in Turin there are difficulties: first, the ill-concealed impatience with Paola Tanning and Aurelio Mancuso, guilty of having launched the first proposal without first involving local organizations. My astonishment was great to see that the intolerance was recorded even in organizations that are not part of the LGBT movement, a sign that we all now unfortunately we have developed antibodies very vigilant on the issue of competition in the field of vision. Personally I would not have made a similar proposal in public without hearing the first organizations of the territory, but that's another story, and since I do not think the dress makes the Monaco tend to give more importance to the substance of things rather than all those ' label used to say.
Furthermore, the choice to organize a Pride has produced so many other distinctions and stomach ache in the women's movement and also in groups of immigrants and migrants, a sign that the distrust felt by some members of the LGBT movement (I, for one) is shared as much as the desire to do the show.
Col I think the weeks in the organizing committee has created a first common strategic vision that all those who suffer the denial of their rights (both formal and informal) have a common interest in working together. It is possible that a society is inclusive with respect to a part and it is not against another. Or rather, the obvious imbalance that we live in the count of the duties and rights assigned to each of us (as individuals and as communities) are the natural reasons that we must work together to push for cooperation and unity of initiatives more mandatory. It is on this, or on the common, which is built units of intent, not on the value of different identities.

The deception of thinking that we can be together only relying on our different identity is very dangerous. The decision to share part of the way because "we agree" it is healthier and perhaps more productive. In the tradition of this radical concept is translated into a sort of little mantra that we repeat every time you face opportunities of alliances it is necessary to create "unity of secular forces" and not "the unity of secular forces."
