... was formed in 1996 as a "folk group the White City" and later renamed "City of Ostuni in 2002, with the aim of promoting and propose the high values \u200b\u200bof the ancient culture of the High Salento to pass on to young generation uses, customs, songs and dances of our ancestors. The group currently consists of about 30 members in costume and is chaired by Mr. Greek Antonio. It boasts a rich repertoire of traditional songs and dances characteristic. The instruments played are the ones that were used in our South during the evening that entertained the wedding party or after a long day in the fields during the harvesting period and harvesting. The guitar, accordion, tammorre, tambourines, castanets, are all only instruments played live by the various members of the group.
The costumes worn clothes revive the elegant days of celebration. The desire to communicate to young people our traditions, has generated in 2008, a group of about 40 young children aged between 6 and 11 years.
The main objective of the group is to directly involve the audience in the events, so that the viewer identifies herself and live the emotions of the past. The dance alternates between a minimum of three to ten pairs playing all the music and songs with choreography rich in color and joy.
